A message from Nate Jacobs and Julie Leach

Dear Friends,

In the face of the ongoing Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the remainder of our theatre season, including our final two productions, Ruby and Flyin’ West.

Ruby will be slotted into the 2020-2021 season in place of the previously planned production of Eubie! Next season’s shows, running from October 7, 2020 through June 6, 2021, will now be Broadway in Black, Ruby, Pipeline and Smokey Joe’s Café. The holiday show is Black Nativity. Subscribers will receive their 2020-2021 subscription packages in early May; single tickets will go on sale in August.

Ticket holders for Ruby and Flyin’ West have the option to donate the cost of their tickets — which would be extremely helpful in defraying some of the significant costs of canceling our shows — or requesting a refund. Please CLICK HERE to fill out a form that will alert us to your preference.
Our development team is reaching out to show sponsors on an individual basis. We ask that you be patient with us as we work through this disappointing situation.

April Fools Fête 2020: A Jukebox Picnic has already been postponed from March 30 to May 18; this annual fun- and fundraiser benefits WBTT’s education programs. We will let you know if our plans change with regard to that event. We are hoping to be able to begin our Stage of Discovery musical theatre camp in June, as scheduled, but will continue to monitor the coronavirus situation to determine if that’s possible.

Like many arts organizations, nonprofits and area businesses, we will suffer an enormous financial impact due to these coronavirus-related cancellations. We’re currently examining ways we can offset the costs of going dark.

We thank you for your understanding and generosity and we look forward to raising the curtain once again as soon as the CDC and local public health officials deem it advisable. In fact, we hope to put something on stage this summer that will be sure to lift everyone’s spirits — stay tuned for further details!
